Rush: Toronto’s Flex the Antihero returns with new Nathan James-produced single

Flex The Antihero is back! It had been close to four years since he had released any material but he recently pulled the trigger on his new record, “Rush.”

Flex, who is known for his punk rock aesthetic and style, has spent his most recent year residing in downtown Toronto. The move has undoubtedly been a positive influence on his return to releasing music, bringing him to the heart of the city’s music scene, and in closer proximity to his peers.

With “Rush”, Flex is setting up his introduction back into music and is also previewing his upcoming mixtape. The project has yet to be named but should be dropping in the next few months. Expect a full dose of Flex’s fast flow and deep lyrics that usually hit close to the heart while unpacking deep thoughts of an individual’s existence in our cold world.

“Rush,” which features a dreamy and lo-fi infused beat, was produced by Nathan James who is known for his role in the Toronto-based rock band Hollow Graves. Additionally, the guitar heard on the song was provided by Logan Trearty, which explains the underlying alt rock vibe we hear in “Rush.” It’s a breath of fresh air in comparison to what we usually hear from traditional pop rap artists who make up the front end of the hip-hop business in 2021.

You can find “Rush” on Spotify and various other digital streaming platforms via The Jaded Collection. Check it out below with the accompanying black and white artwork.
