Sónar 2025 Expands Lineup with 50 New Acts for Barcelona Festival

A Massive Expansion for Sónar 2025

Sónar Barcelona has officially bolstered its 2025 roster, announcing over 50 new additions to its already impressive musical program. This latest update brings the total count of scheduled performances to 117, solidifying the festival’s status as a premier destination for electronic music enthusiasts and industry professionals alike. The event is set to take place across 10 distinct stages throughout Barcelona from June 10th to 15th, 2025.

The festival continues to curate a diverse and forward-thinking lineup that bridges the gap between underground innovation and global electronic appeal. Among the notable new confirmations are live sets from Pa Salieu, Sega Bodega, Dengue Dengue Dengue, and Josh Caffé. Furthermore, the festival will host highly anticipated DJ sets from industry stalwarts like Dixon and Ultra Naté, alongside a poignant tribute to the late Ryuichi Sakamoto, performed by Alva Noto and Fennesz.

Genre-Defying Collaborations and Artistic Vision

The 32nd edition of Sónar is deeply committed to the spirit of creative exploration. The organizers have emphasized a focus on cross-genre collaborations, ensuring that the programming remains as eclectic as it is influential. Attendees can look forward to a wide spectrum of sounds, ranging from the afrobeat-infused rhythms of Pa Salieu to the experimental club-pop fusion championed by Sega Bodega.

The house and techno contingent remains a cornerstone of the festival’s identity. This year, the curation highlights unique back-to-back performances, including a compelling set from Skee Mask and Actress, as well as a collaborative appearance by Dee Diggs and Ultra Naté. These pairings underscore Sónar’s reputation for fostering unexpected musical dialogues that push the boundaries of contemporary dance music.

Enhanced Production and Immersive Experiences

A major highlight for the 2025 edition is the introduction of a dedicated Boiler Room stage at Sónar by Night. This addition is expected to be a focal point for fans seeking an intimate, high-energy atmosphere. Additionally, the festival is continuing its successful partnership with Printworks London, bringing the renowned SonarLab x Printworks stage back to Barcelona. This collaboration promises to deliver world-class audio-visual production, creating an immersive environment that complements the high-caliber performances.

These new additions join a previously announced lineup that already features heavyweights such as Plastikman, Arca, and Eric Prydz. By blending established legends with emerging talent, Sónar 2025 aims to remain the epicenter of electronic music innovation.

Kicking Off the Festivities

The festival will officially commence on June 12th with a special concert held at the historic Palau de la Música Catalana. The opening program will feature works by Steve Reich and Raquel García-Tomás, setting a sophisticated tone for the week. Beyond the music, Sónar+D will run concurrently, providing a platform to explore the intersection of technology, AI creativity, and the future of the global creative industries.
