TLC singer Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas has addressed reports that she donated nearly $1,000 to Donald Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign. Records revealed that Thomas contributed to Trump-affiliated PACs on 17 separate occasions between April and November 2024.
In a statement posted to Instagram, Thomas denied supporting the MAGA movement or its policies. She attributed the donations to a misunderstanding, stating, “I made a mistake too many make: I did not read the fine print. I thought I was supporting causes against human trafficking and for veterans, two things I care deeply about.”
The singer has faced scrutiny for her political activity, including past social media activity involving debunked conspiracy theories about Michelle Obama and her 2017 comments regarding “all lives matter,” both of which she has since attempted to clarify or walk back. Thomas is currently preparing for the “It’s Iconic” tour alongside Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.
