If you have been following the Toronto music scene over the last few months you know that female rapper Paris Richards has taken the Toronto by storm. She has dominated Apple and Spotify streaming charts as the most streamed independent female rapper coming out of Toronto, so much so that Toronto blog RapCap has dubbed her the Queen of Toronto.
Paris’s popularity amongst fans is growing at a rapid rate, truly separating her from the competition. Her freshly released single “Woah Vicky” dropped on Friday, along with a video powered by King Bee Productions to coincide with the release. The song and video have already been covered by some of Toronto’s top blogs with high praise. Paris has consistently dropped hit after hit. Her single “Heart in the Trap” produced by 4-time Grammy-winner Mally Mall has racked up over 500,000 streams consecutively. Paris earned herself a #1 charting single on iTunes with the Dub J-produced hit “Look At Me,” co-signed by Detroit, Michigan Queen Kash Doll. Her “Look At Me” video has also already surpassed 100K views on YouTube.
Make no mistake, Paris is here for top spot and is showing no signs of letting anyone pass her on her way to greatness. She has a loyal fanbase of Toronto listeners earning her top spot in the city, while also out streaming her competition globally. This is incredibly impressive for an independent artist succeeding on her own off the strength of her talent and taking no shortcuts to the top.
Paris tells us she has lots more on the way and is excited to give her fans new music. You can find “Woah Vicky” on Apple Music, Spotify, and various other digital streaming platforms.
