With a new video injecting more life into the vital Enough Is Enough campaign, we’ve made the powerful Dub J-produced single “Wish I Could” our Song of the Day.
The groundbreaking record brings together several neighbourhoods from Toronto, and features an all-star lineup that includes Maestro Fresh Wes, JD Era, Bizz Loc, Turk, Roney, Jelleestone, and JRDN.
“The multi-generational component combined with the life experiences and knowledge that these artists bring to this song is very powerful. I truly believe this is the most important Canadian hip hop record ever made.” – Dub J
The Knemesis-directed video—which has seen over 13K views in just a couple of days—arrived after an extensive publicity campaign that has seen a ton of coverage from mainstream Canadian media. The single has also been streamed over 30K times on Spotify, and has found significant chart success on iTunes Canada.
While the streams are definitely key for helping spread awareness, Enough Is Enough is ultimately looking to donate to Toronto communities impacted by gun violence, and that’s where actually paying for the $1.29 single is crucial.
“We’re really encouraging people to head over to iTunes and purchase the song for $1.29,” explained Dub J.
“This is more effective than streaming. We love the streams but downloads are key since we’re donating the proceeds to various Toronto communities affected by gun violence through our Enough Is Enough campaign. You can also go to EnoughIsEnoughTO.com and donate via PayPal or the newly added GoFundMe.”
The Enough Is Enough movement’s primary goal is to bring national awareness to the heightened acts of gun violence in Toronto and to work directly with community members in these affected areas.
“Wish I Could” is available on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music, Spotify, and TIDAL. Please consider downloading the audio to support the cause. “Wish I Could” was also added to our official Spotify playlist, Canadian Fresh.
