The Legacy Continues…
Earlier today, Def Jam pulled the trigger on Exodus, the eighth studio album from DMX, and the first posthumous release since the legend’s untimely death this past April. The album title makes reference to X’s youngest son, Exodus Simmons, who appears on “Walking in the Rain,” as well as the Bible verse, Exodus 1:7, which he was named after:
“And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceedingly mighty; and the land was filled with them.” – Exodus 1:7
Exodus, which was recorded by DMX in Snoop Dogg’s LA studio, was executive produced by longtime friend and collaborator, Swizz Beatz. It also features production by AraabMuzik, Jerry “Wonda” Duplessis, Keyz, Avenue Beatz, Mr. Porter, Ayo Lucky, Nasri Atweh, and Kanye West.
Along with Exodus Simmons, the list of guest features includes Alicia Keys, Benny The Butcher, Bono, Brian King Joseph, Conway the Machine, The Cross, dEnAun, Icepick, Infared, JAY-Z, Lil Wayne, The LOX, Moneybagg Yo, Nas, Snoop, Swizz Beatz, Usher, and Westside Gunn.
