Jim Jones co-signs Jon Hope’s triumphant return on visuals for Israel Wusu-assisted “Where We Come From/THS”

Less than a week after featuring in the Peter Jackson video for “Fell,” Jim Jones is back in another new visual, this time co-signing Jon Hope.

Jon Hope delivers inspirational and deeply personal rhymes in his uplifting new video for, “THS” featuring vocalist Israel Wusu. Prior to Hope’s powerful performance, the stage is first set with words of wisdom from the DipSet Capo for the appropriately titled, “Where We Come From.”

Following Jones’ prologue, Hope travels from the streets of NYC to a stunning coastline for a riveting take on “THS.” It stands for “That Hope Shit,” which he explains is a message of “inspiration and motivation” but not on some “blind positivity.” It comes from a sense of confidence, knowing one’s place in the world, and realizing the impact you can have.

“I want to raise expectations about what it means to be a ‘real n***a’ and remove the stigma in our culture that’s attached to being positive and wanting better than the cliched hip-hop tropes we come to love.” – Jon Hope

Hope brings all of that emotion and passion to his performance of “THS,” a soulful banger off his upcoming album, Hope All Is Well. It almost feels like a reintroduction of sorts to the Providence, RI-native, whose grind on the music scene has been steady and strong over the past decade. But there’s just something different about “THS” and Hope’s sound in general on this track—and his message couldn’t be more timely.
