The Latin Recording Academy has officially unveiled its list of nominees for the 2026 Latin Grammy Awards, highlighting a year of immense creative diversity and global reach. Among the most notable figures, acclaimed Mexican songwriter and producer Edgar Barrera leads the field with a staggering 10 nominations, cementing his status as a powerhouse in the industry.
Reflecting on the breadth of this year’s selection, Manuel Abud, CEO of the Latin Recording Academy, emphasized the mobility and evolution of modern Latin music. “The album of the year category, if you analyze it, is a wonderful list,” Abud noted in a statement to Billboard Español. “There’s such a great diversity—not just in genre. Interestingly, it’s half men, half women. We have Mexico, Argentina, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay—seven countries represented.”

Barrera’s influence is felt across the most prestigious categories, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year, largely due to his collaborative work with artists like Karol G and Carín León. With 72 career nominations and 29 wins to date, Barrera continues to be a defining force in the Latin music landscape.
The competition remains fierce, with Rosalía earning a nomination for Album of the Year for her 2025 LP Lux, while her track “La Perla,” featuring Yahritza y Su Esencia, is up for both Record and Song of the Year. She joins a competitive field that includes Karol G, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso, Anitta, Milo J, and Rawayana, all of whom are vying for top honors. Additionally, Becky G and Santana have secured a nod in the Song of the Year category for their collaboration, “Mi Gran Amor.”
The 27th annual Latin Grammy Awards are scheduled to air live from Las Vegas on Thursday, November 12, at 8pm ET via TelevisaUnivision platforms. Prior to the main event, the Latin Grammy Premiere will take place to announce the majority of the winners.
