My Bloody Valentine join No Music For Genocide boycott

The newly-reunited My Bloody Valentine are the latest artist to join the “No Music For Genocide” boycott. The band is geo-blocking their music from streaming platforms in Israel, joining the likes of Fontaines D.C., MJ Lenderman, Massive Attack, Japanese Breakfast, Lorde, Denzel Curry, and more than a thousand over artists and labels. The campaign, which launched in September, is a response to “the genocide in Gaza; ethnic cleansing of the Occupied West Bank; apartheid within Israel; and political repression of Pro-Palestine efforts wherever we live.” Last month, an NYC fundraiser for “No Music For Genocide” raised $7,090, with all proceeds funding mutual aid organizations in Gaza and the Occupied West Bank.

My Bloody Valentine, who played a surprise show in Dublin last week (their first gig in seven years), have released a statement in clear support of Palestinian people. While playing at the Warehouse in Manchester’s Aviva Studios, Kevin Shields said to the crowd: “Free Palestine. Between this American, UK, and Israeli thing, they’re not going to stop unless you make them, you know? They’re not going to listen to reason.” Watch a clip below.
