The LUV Concert Series continues with Episode 3 featuring budding Toronto singer-songwriter Benita, who hails from the city’s talent-filled neighbourhood Jane and Finch.
Currently promoting her EP debut, Scarlet, Benita has developed a reputation for being an impeccable vocalist, combining textures of R&B and pop in her sound. In 2019, The Remix Project-graduate reached the top 10 of CBC’s Canada-wide Searchlight competition, and she’s also found coverage overseas on prominent platforms like BBC Radio One and BBC 1Xtra.
Her LUV Concert Series performance features five songs including four off Scarlet (“Out Of Here,” “Bloodflower,” “Toxic,” and “Dopamine”), as well as a new track called “Gangsta.”
Produced by More Music Management in partnership with HipHopCanada Digital Inc., the LUV Concert Series will feature a new episode every Sunday and Wednesday up until the finale. Along with featuring Nadia Stone in its debut episode and Tia Bank$ in Episode 2, the rest of the inaugural LUV Concert Series lineup includes DijahSB on May 1, Liyah on May 4, LolaBunz on May 8, and Naya Ali on May 11. The last artist in the lineup, previous 3x JUNO-nominee Melanie Durrant, will be presented on May 18 just after the JUNO Week 2022 festivities.
