Vancouver’s own Terell Safadi is gearing up for the release of his fourth EP, Get Money Mind State, set to drop on April 23, 2021. The lead single off the project, “Made for This,” features new Indigenous R&B singer Michelle Heyoka who brings a motivational feel to the chorus with her captivating vocals.
Inspired by the streets of Vancouver and the lessons learned in them, “Made For This” marks Safadi’s first collaboration with Heyoka.
“Now more than ever I wanted to show unity between Black and First Nations as many of our civil unrest is parallel,” says Safadi.
“This collaboration symbolizes unity, dedication, perseverance and passion.”
A few days ago, Safadi released accompanying visuals for “Made for This,” powered by Farawayland Studios and Saddat Films.
The video was shot in Vancouver and is an inspirational view of the accomplishments made by various dream seekers and winners, namely Michelle Heyoka, Tony Pep (former Canadian Boxing Champion, fought Floyd Mayweather), Nova Stevens (Miss Universe Canada 2020 and first woman of Sudanese origin to compete at Miss Universe), Keon Lyn (CFL cornerback for the Edmonton Eskimos, signed with the Indianapolis Colts in 2014), Demitri Harris (basketball player with the North American Premier Basketball, one of two Canadians on the Vancouver Knights roster) and Clay Crellin (2018 NBA Draft, basketball player with the Philippines Basketball Association), as well as Safadi himself.
“Made For This,” featuring Michelle Heyoka, is available on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
