The Queen of Hip-Hop Soul, Mary J. Blige, recently unveiled the first-look at her upcoming documentary, My Life. The production will look at Blige’s life during the period she created her classic 1994 My Life album.
“I’m so excited to share the trailer for my new documentary,” said Blige upon the trailer’s release.
“Get ready to learn the story behind one of the most inspiring albums of all time.”
The documentary will take a deep look at how some of Blige’s most memorable songs came together—touching on dark times in her life, and challenges she overcame.
“My Life is probably my darkest album at one of the darkest times I’ve had. Most of the time, I was just depressed and didn’t want to live. I had it all inside and I was able to sing it and write it, and I didn’t know that so many people felt the same way.”
The new documentary will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, June 25th.
