Doechii & Central Cee in Fast Lane to Making You a Better Driver

Have a problem keeping your eyes on the road while driving? Listening to music from Doechii and Central Cee can help with concentration behind the wheel, a new study finds.

Need to Concentrate While Driving? Doechii and Central Cee Might Be the Answer

Some people might assume silence is the best way to focus in the car, but there’s no fun in that. So, if there’s going to be any music turned up in the ride, it better be Doechii or Central Cee to help improve driving skills. A new study released on March 31 by Auto Trader, the U.K.’s largest automotive marketplace for buying and selling new and used cars, determined which new artists that would likely be heard on the radio these days are the most beneficial to listen to while driving. Out of 10 artists spanning pop, rock, rap and more, Doechii came in at No. 2 while Cench earned a No. 6 position.

Though U.K. driving is quite different from what happens over here in the U.S.—traffic drives on the left, which is opposite in America—driver focus is a universal necessity, which means listening to Doechii and Central Cee stateside is pretty important. The study tasked 200 drivers in the U.K. to complete a series of hazard perception tests while listening to playlists from 20 different artists who are currently topping the charts.

The hazard perception test indicates how quickly a driver can react to potentially dangerous situations while behind the wheel. Turning up (responsibly) to the Tampa, Fla. MC and the British rapper aided in concentration. We’ll assume Doechii’s “Denial Is a River” and Cee’s “Band4Band” featuring Lil Baby were the tracks played while whippin’ it.

A driver’s score was recorded and totaled to reveal the average result per artist after each hazard perception test was completed while listening to a specific artist’s playlist. The scores below represent the average score out of 75 achieved by multiple participants listening to a particular artist during the test. Higher scores indicate greater levels of concentration.

This means that when a driver was bumping songs from Doechii or Central Cee, they identified and reacted to hazards quicker. Their music kept listeners engaged without being overly-distracting. That’s one thing to mention the next time you might be trying to get out of a speeding ticket.
