Chris Brown was reportedly arrested in Manchester, England, this morning for allegedly attacking a music producer two years ago.
Chris Brown Booked for Alleged 2023 Attack
Around 2 a.m. this morning, (May 15), the R&B singer was taken into custody at The Lowrey Hotel by the Metropolitan Police after arriving in the city yesterday afternoon for upcoming concerts, according to U.K. news outlet The Sun. Brown was booked on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm to music producer Abe Diaw at Tape nightclub in Mayfair, Central London, in February 2023.
“A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 02:00hrs on Thursday, 15 May on suspicion of grievous bodily harm,” Metro police tell XXL. “He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on 19 February 2023.”
According to the Sun report, Diaw claims the unprovoked attack happened when Brown was performing in the U.K. on a nationwide tour. Diaw told authorities that Brown hit him over the head with a bottle and then punched and kicked him when he fell to the ground. Diaw reportedly filed a $16 million lawsuit against Brown in connection with the incident.
The latest incident comes less than a year after Brown was hit with multiple lawsuits and accused of attacking concertgoers in a VIP section during a Texas stop on his 11:11 Tour.
