Budding Ottawa artist The LJ kicked off the month of May with his latest single, “Lethal.”
Recorded at Studio B at The Cave, the track was produced by frequent LJ collaborator and Australian beatsmith Paw, who LJ described as “one of the best producers I’ve ever worked with.”
“The song is about having to go through the struggle, grinding and reaping the benefits,” The LJ explained via email.
“But not without haters looking at what I’ve built and how I’m living and enviously wanting it for themselves. It’s a common theme in my music how we all have the same 24 hours in a day and I chose to sacrifice and elevate my life rather than be complacent. Yes, I have diamonds on my body, yes, they’re expensive, but I’m also not about to be letting anyone try to infiltrate or take it from us. We do this for the legacy and we are in it for the long run. Like i always say ‘this ain’t no play play.’”
“Lethal” was recently added to HipHopCanada’s official Spotify playlist, Canadian Fresh You can also find it on Apple Music and other outlets The Cave Music Group.
