Victor Ruiz record label, VOLTA welcomes a boisterous peak time techno EP by Ilona Maras.
Ilona Maras is making her debut on VOLTA following a series of successful releases on leading techno imprints including Alan Fitzpatrick’s We Are The Brave and Frankyeffe’s Riot.
Combining beefy basslines with hedonistic vocals and pounding drums, Ilona Maras’ style is tailor-made for the dance floor.
Talking about Ilona Maras’ release on his record label, Victor Ruiz said: “When Ilona sent me these tracks, I knew immediately that they were special. A balance between some classic and timeless techno sounds, but with a modern
approach.”
Hailing from Switzerland, Ilona Maras is based in Zurich, and is a resident DJ at the city’s Hive Club, where she regularly plays alongside icons ranging from Gregor Tresher to Joyhauser.
This two-track release showcases Ilona Maras’ masterful ability to ignite a dance floor into a unifying blaze of energy and excitement.
“Hit The Club” is the EP’s title track, its hulking electro-tinged bassline underpins crunching claps and party starting vocals that make you want to party all night.
On the flip side, “Ra Ra Ra” has a hammering kick drum and rattling hi-hats forming a framework for the churning groove created by the vocal textures and menacing bass stabs.
