Vancouver’s own JARETT recently unleashed official single debut, “Travel,” produced by Diamond Style.

JARETT releases his debut single “TRAVEL”
Vancouver, BC – “Travel,” the debut single from blossoming pop artist JARETT, has officially hit streaming platforms. Written by JARETT and produced by Diamond Style, the breezy dancehall-inspired tune can now be streamed and playlisted via Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and more.
Brimming with the bubbly Caribbean verve of Major Lazer or Sean Paul, “Travel” is a visceral track that doubles as JARETT’s emphatic introduction to the electronic-pop crossover space. The rising Vancouver-based musician’s intoxicating vocal flair, which croons with the hypnotic warbling of Mavado, is set to act as a catalyst for what looks like a monster 2021 for the young singer-songwriter. He blends his vocals with kinetic electronic elements akin to productions by Diplo, Snakehips, and LMFAO, also infusing rhythmic hip-hop elements to round out a radio-ready sound.
Having been raised in Toronto with Bajan family and traveled all over the Caribbean, where he found himself immersed in the region’s idyllic backdrops and rich culture, JARETT says the creative inspiration for “Travel” stems from his own personal love of globetrotting. As COVID-19 lockdowns become more and more severe—affecting the mental health of millions—JARETT hopes his new single serves as a nostalgia machine that allows listeners to find solace in the simpler times of yesteryear, when they were free to see the world.
JARETT also wants to remind music fans that while the pandemic may seem overwhelming at times, it is temporary.
“The world is in lockdown and people want to get out of their comfort zone,” he said.
“I want people to feel like there’s something to look forward to after all of this is over. Just because we’re here now doesn’t mean we’ll be here forever.”
