Boom Merchant Returns with Tribal Pulse Single and Remix Package

Boom Merchant is back on his record label Tribal Pulse with a raw and in-your-face techno single, which also features remixes by Fractious and Obsidian Wave.

“Throw Up” is the solo original on the release, and it’s in Boom Merchant’s trademark style, fusing boisterous vocals with gritty drums and a hulking bassline. It’s his first release on Tribal Pulse in 2026, coming hot on the heels of his recent debut on Moog Conspiracy’s Elektrotribe Records.

Originally from Ireland, but currently living in Mexico, Boom Merchant is an internationally respected artist with music on labels ranging from T78’s Autektone to La La’s Brand New Records.

On remix duty, Fractious heads up the RAW WORX record label that has featured Boom Merchant’s music as part of its catalogue. Known for his hypnotic style with raw drums and modulating synths, Fractious has featured his music on other imprints such as Tronic, KD RAW, Sway, and Unrilis.

The second remix comes from Obsidian Wave who is a UK-based producer with a gritty style that merges breakbeat and techno. He is a Tribal Pulse regular whose tracks are defined by their driving percussion and heavy basslines.

The original mix of “Throw Up” opens the release with its hammering kick drum, thrashing hi-hats and lurching stabs. Hip hop style vocal phrases burst forth to add an aggressive vibe, which is contrasted by the deep pads of the suspenseful breakdowns.

Fractious’ remix of “Throw Up” focuses on the percussion, adding a murky synth, and muffling the vocal so the hypnotic drum patterns can take full control. Obsidian Wave’s trippy remix of “Throw Up” warps the original’s parts and toughens the drums to deliver an industrial version.
