SARAPATA: „Radical Kindness” is about building bridges, support and acceptance

Polish duo SARAPATA premiered their second album in May and these days they presented a brand new remix of their track “Yorokobi” produced by Edvvin.  Captivating music videos, intriguing gigs and live-acts and their own idea of music – this defines the style of the two talented artists and… brothers.

And on their latest album they show us that techno can “surround us with love and tenderness”.

Sarapata perform in the clubs and at the festivals in Poland and around the world, but the ultimate highlight of 2024 is the album „Radical Kindness”.

Making music away from civilisation

Sarapata brothers’ second album began to be written in early 2023. In late January and early February, the artists travelled to a cottage tucked away high in the mountains of Slovakia, a place cut off from civilisation. It was there that the flagship numbers that appear on the album Radical Kindness were created.

We create our own style!

The album sounds in genres such as IDM and melodic techno, but filtered through the duo’s own musical sensibilities.  The musical layer has been enriched with a variety of euphoric keyboard parts, and we hear a lot more drum machines and analogue sounds.

This is that kind of music that will sound perfect for both partying and walking alone.

What is Radical Kindness?

The album was titled ‘Radical Kindness’ not coincidentally.

The slogan refers to those acts and activities that deliberately seek to build bridges between differences, develop solidarity and common ground, and promote social connection between different groups and communities. It is an approach to life based on a deep commitment to building positive relationships, supporting other people and creating a society based on cooperation, understanding and acceptance of differences.

Techno means caring

The Sarapata brothers’ techno is not only meant to connect – it is also meant to care for the listener as a companion for dancing the night away on the dancefloor and – at the same time – as a partner for daily wanderings through the routine of everyday life. Sensitive techno has replaced romantic one. Each emotionally soaked sound is meant to reach the point that needs it most in the given moment and circumstances.

„Radical Kindness” is a fully fledged and multithreaded story that plays out across several artistic disciplines, starting with music, then cinematography and finally a list of literary narratives.

Sonically, however, it is an evolution that, on the one hand, does not erase the traces of the past, but, on the other, does not intend to cut coupons from it – romantic techno is no longer romantic. It is techno produced with a truly classical flair, where, in addition to a mosaic of sounds, a story has been written to be the glue of all the sonic and non-sonic puzzles of which Radical Kindness is composed.

Alongside the release of the album, a third single entitled „On My Way Back” had been released. It is a unique duet with a talented singer Marta Zlakowska, known for her collaboration with Massive Attack’s first frontman and the “God of trip-hop” – Tricky.

And the fresh premiere is the new techno  version of “Yorokobi” – this track was remixed  by Poland’s favourite young DJ and producer from Warsaw: Edvvin.
