With the 2022 United States elections right around the corner (Nov. 8), efforts by groups to increase voter turnup are crucial, especially among young people. Back in May, we reported on the first round of artists announced for the #iVoted Festival 2022, and now the organizers behind the event have added even more to the bill.
#iVoted Festival’s election night webcast that fans access with a selfie from outside their polling place or at home with a blank and unmarked ballot, has added “A Conversation with W. Kamau Bell and Tom Morello,” appearances by Billie Eilish, FINNEAS, Steph Curry, Eugene Mirman, Seth Godin, and Beauty School Dropout with performances by VINCINT, MILCK x Autumn Rowe, Filter, Local H, Post Animal, Dead Sara and more with 400+ artists confirmed for the Nov. 8 event.
They join previously announced Run the Jewels (Holy Calamavote TV concert rebroadcast), CNCO, Rise Against, OK Go, Lake Street Dive, Los Lobos, The Revivalists, Shakey Graves, Taylor Bennett, Carl Craig, Em Beihold, The Black Angels, Messer, The Range, Bully, Umphrey’s McGee, DeVotchKa, 3OH!3, Halestorm, Koly P, Lil’ Scrappy, Black Stone Cherry, El Trono De Mexico, Piper Perabo, La Bouche, Fabiø Guerra, Richard Marx, Jamby El Favo, Queen Khamyra, The Starting Line, Jaret Reddick of Bowling for Soup, Twiztid and The Suffers and more with the full lineup available HERE.
#iVoted Festival also launched the #iVotedEarly Sweepstakes last month where U.S. residents can submit a selfie from outside their nearest polling place or at home with a blank and unmarked ballot to win tickets to 600 concerts including Lizzo, Rina Sawayama, The Who, Demi Lovato, Kevin Hart, Soccer Mommy, Deadmau5, Chris Rock, Cafe Tacvba, Quentin Tarantino, Jerry Seinfeld, Marcus Mumford, Smashing Pumpkins, Zac Brown Band, Dave Matthews Band, Carrie Underwood, Marc Anthony, Orville Peck, Smokey Robinson, Steve Lacy, Karol G, Omar Apollo, ATEEZ, Ozuna, Toro Y Moi, Surf Curse, Carly Rae Jepsen, Jessie Reyez, The 1975, King Princess, Keith Urban, beabadoobee, Carlos Santana, Noah Cyrus, an #iVoted Gibson guitar, 666 cans of Liquid Death & more. All #iVotedEarly Sweepstakes entries are RSVP’d for #iVoted Festival’s election night webcast. Underage fans enter by letting the non-partisan group know what election they will be 18 for and why they’re excited to vote. Non-U.S. residents can also RSVP to #iVoted Festival 2022 by letting the 501(c)3 non-profit know which artist they’re most excited to check out.
“I’m so proud of our all-women C-Suite and young group of mentees that have been working tirelessly since January to make #iVoted Festival and the #iVoted Early Sweepstakes happen. We are eternally grateful to all of the artists for their time and commitment to increasing voter turnout,” says CEO and Founder Emily White.
#iVoted Festival launched its first webcast on election night 2020, creating the largest digital concert in history. M.I.T. has since analyzed the group’s work showing an increase of 7% in voter turnout, whereas historically “get out the vote” drives do so by 0.5-1%. The group credits this increase to their data-driven methods of booking artists per the data on the top trending Spotify and Instagram artists in key states whose electoral margins are often decided by the size of a venue.
