West Coast rapper JAHMED has released his sophomore EP, ARMANI via Human Re-Sources.
On the nine-track EP, JAHMED delivers sharp lyricism and high-energy beats throughout the project, upholding the unique style he’s cultivated. The project vibrantly captures JAHMED’s process in understanding himself and the world around him.
“ARMANI is a world. ARMANI is love. ARMANI is betrayal. ARMANI is resentment,” JAHMED explains.
“ARMANI is the current state of the world, how it made me feel, and how I overcame it. ARMANI is defeating self-doubt. ARMANI is a process towards gaining clarity. ARMANI is family. ARMANI is finding yourself. ARMANI is redemption.”
The EP is accompanied by a music video for “USAY,” a playful take on a woman’s betrayal that captures his feelings through a story of two women successfully tricking and robbing him.
ARMANI features Grammy-Award nominated rapper Freddie Gibbs on “Glimpse,” narration from Pomona native Suga Free, and the latest single, “Wipe,” which made Spotify’s New Music Friday and Most Necessary and Apple Music’s New In Hip Hop playlists.
The new project follows JAHMED’s standout debut, THEBOOFMOBILE, which surpassed two million streams and garnered press praise from HYPEBEAST, MTV, DJ BOOTH, FADER, and more. Between EP releases, JAHMED worked with rising rappers Mozzy and D-Smoke on “TWOTEN,” G-Eazy for a remix of “Love Is Gone,” and his collaborative single “ACTUP” with Party Favor was included in the Madden 21 soundtrack.
Raised between California and Texas, JAHMED grew up in a hip-hop-loving family and found inspiration from both cities. He and his late brother learned to produce and record their own music which led to a blossoming career for JAHMED and a project dedicated to his brother’s remembrance.
Now, with ARMANI, he emphatically declares he’s one to watch as he embarks on this exciting next chapter of his career.
ARMANI is available on various digital streaming platforms including Apple Music and Spotify.
