Primavera Sound Barcelona 2025 will draw to a spectacular close with a landmark celebration: Primavera Bits x Nitsa, the official closing party set for Sunday, June 8th, at the iconic Parc del Fòrum. This electrifying event is not just the finale of one of the world’s most renowned music festivals, it’s also a tribute to the 30th anniversary of Barcelona’s legendary Nitsa Club, a cornerstone of the city’s electronic music scene.

Primavera Bits, first introduced in 2016 as a dedicated space for electronic beats within the festival, now finds new energy in this collaboration with Nitsa. Together, they reaffirm Primavera Sound’s commitment to innovation, club culture, and elevating the festival experience.

We had the chance to speak to the organizers about this final chapter of Primavera Sound 2025 — an unforgettable sunset celebration of rhythm, community, and forward-thinking sound on the shores of Barcelona. Read on & get your tickets for THE event of the summer here!

  • The lineup features various artists, from Michael Bibi and Paul Kalkbrenner to Carlita and Ona. What criteria did you use to select these particular artists for the event?

As in the past years, the line-up reflects Primavera and Nitsa’s eclecticism applied to the dancefloor. Michael Bibi’s shows have become increasingly unique, becoming one of the biggest artists in the scene in recent years. Together with the legendary Paul Kalkbrenner, it seemed to us a perfect coheadline combination.

This adds to emerging names such as Carlita, BUNT. and the Barcelona resident, Ona.

  • Ona, a Barcelona-based DJ, is part of the lineup. How important is it for you to showcase local talent alongside international acts?

Both Primavera Sound and Nitsa have not only showcased but also developed electronic music artists from Barcelona through the years.

A great example is our yearly collaborative showcase together with John Talabot’s label Hivern Discs, which has been happening at the festival for many years and of which we feel very proud.

  • Tell us about the collaborative process between Primavera Sound and Nitsa Club in organizing this event. What were the synergies and challenges?

Nitsa’s booking team is also part of Primavera’s, and the two companies have been deeply interconnected since their start, so the idea for this joint celebration was very natural and made total sense.

  1. The Parc del Fòrum offers a unique seaside setting. How does the venue’s ambiance contribute to the overall experience of the closing party?

We feel Barcelona is definitely an essential component of Primavera Sound, so we love the idea of ending the festival dancing by the sea during sunset.

  • The event is scheduled from 15:00 to 23:00. What are the advantages and challenges of hosting a daytime electronic music event in this setting?

After three very intense days, we feel it’s beautiful to have this last dance under the sun. However, for those who want to keep going, Primavera’s program expands until 5 AM that night in Sala Apolo.

  • How do you see the techno and electronic music scene evolving in the context of large-scale festivals like Primavera Sound?

Primavera Sound has always had a huge electronic music component. Our first line-ups in the early 2000s were very focused on electronic music and had acts such as Aphex Twin, Carl Craig, and Armand Van Helden (who is coming back this year).

Together with the festival’s growth, on our most recent additions, we have also complemented the dance music offer with stages dedicated to more experimental and underground artists. We always had these, but I feel it has been reinforced in recent years, making it a very unique case, mixing pop superstars and very forward-thinking music.

Definitely, electronic music is pumping right now, but also as a consequence, there are lots of events trying to do the same thing. We feel the key to success is keeping your own personality and making a difference.

  • As you think about the future of electronic music events, how do you see Barcelona’s evolving cultural and club scene shaping your long-term curatorial approach? What role do you envision the city playing in defining the next Primavera Bits party?

Being Primavera and Nitsa brands that have been essential in Barcelona’s electronic music scene for about 30 years, we look forward to extending our events to new ideas and formats. Right now, we are very excited about LaMercedes, a unique warehouse we will be using in the Fall for big daytime parties with superstars such as Amelie Lens and Solomun.

Thanks a bunch for sharing all this information with us & our readers. We can’t wait to dance together at Primavera Bits x Nitsa on Sunday, June 8th.
