“AFTERLIFE” from upcoming EP, RIOT
In anticipation of his latest project – RIOT. scheduled for release later this year, Toronto artist Eyes Enter Space is releasing his first single from the EP called “AFTERLIFE” on July 29, 2021. The single shows Eyes’ growth as a storyteller as he leads the audience on a journey into the chaotic and melancholy world of RIOT.
Take it or leave, you get cards in this you can’t choose how it’s dealt,
so I blocked out the world only focused on me I been selfish only time will tell
Right from the opening lyrics of “AFTERLIFE” the contrast in Eyes’ rebellious chanting in the verses to his melodic hook paints a melancholy world where the protagonist is at war with his personal demons. Eyes draws inspiration from his own personal experiences as a young adult residing in the rough neighborhoods of Toronto’s east-end.
“The city is cold and will eat you alive if you let it. I feel like it is important to make sure that gets across to listeners.”
After the release of his 2019 EP – UNDER THE SUN, Eyes stepped away from the spotlight to hone his craft and elevate his art to the next level.
“I had to step away from certain situations and environments to ensure my own growth and wellbeing are kept intact.”
In an era of music where quantity reigns supreme, Eyes sets himself apart by making quality music with a creative and strategic vision. He designs almost every aspect of the creative process from concept to execution.
“I love challenges, that is why I took on the task of creating a project that, puts the listener in a different world.”
“AFTERLIFE” and RIOT was produced by Eyes Enter Space and producer Mac Space over the course of 12 months, in 3 different studios across Toronto.
“This project presented me with so many roadblocks that shaped me to grow into a better artist, and I can’t wait for people to hear it.”
