Brainy indie-folk band Good Old War aren’t really around anymore. They released four full-length LPs, the most recent one being 2015’s Broken into Better Shape, before sharing a trio of EPs in 2017 and 2018—Part of Me, Part of You, and Part of Us—and then promptly falling off the face of the earth. Frontman Keith Goodwin recently posted a solo track to the band’s Instagram page, lighting it up for only the second time 18 months.
But you may remember them most for their springy 2012 album Come Back As Rain. On this day (April 10) in 2012, the band—then a trio featuring Goodwin, guitarist Dan Schwartz and drummer Tim Arnold—treated Daytrotter listeners to a handful of songs from that record, including “Amazing Eyes.” They also played “Calling Me Names” and “It Hurts Every Time” from that release, as well as “Coney Island” from their 2008 debut Only Way To Be Alone.
