Loka Manya Prawiro Returns with Heartfelt Album ‘I Love You Evermore’

Loka Manya Prawiro ’s musical journey is an evidence of passion, perseverance, and profound talent. Born in 1961, Loka’s affinity for music began at the age of five. By nine, he was already proficient in guitar and piano, largely self-taught. A graduate of Pepperdine University with a degree in Business Administration, his path took a significant turn toward music in 1980 when he wrote and recorded his first jazz tracks. However, it wasn’t until 1995 that he made his mark with the debut album Back To the Old Days, featuring the beloved ballad “I Love You Evermore,” initially written in Indonesian as “Aku Makin Cinta.”

Over the years, Loka has drawn from a diverse array of genres, including pop, rock, soul, R&B funk, and classical instrumentals, to craft a unique and timeless sound. Despite a flourishing career, personal tragedies like the passing of his mother in 2018 deeply affected him. This loss led to a prolonged hiatus from music, during which he sought solace and healing.

After 18 years away from the studio, Loka Manya Prawiro has channeled his life experiences into his latest album, I Love You Evermore. This project is a rich tapestry of emotions, blending his characteristic soulful melodies with heartfelt lyrics.

The album opens with “Passion,” a track that sets the tone with its compelling rhythm and introspective lyrics. “The Secrets of a Woman’s Heart” follows, offering listeners a glimpse into Loka’s intricate storytelling ability. “Leonie” and “The Flower of My Heart” are both evocative pieces that highlight his knack for blending personal narrative with universal themes.

The title track, I Love You Evermore, stands out as a centerpiece. Originally a love letter to his wife, the song has evolved into an anthem of enduring love and resilience. This heartfelt ballad is complemented by “A Song to Say Goodbye Mama” and “A Hole in My Heart,” both deeply personal reflections on loss and remembrance.

Missing You so Much” and “Son of Man” continue the album’s exploration of love and longing, while “Sea Waves” and “Love Serenade” close the album on a contemplative note, offering a sense of peace and closure.

Loka Manya Prawiro’s return to music has been marked by a collaborative spirit, involving a team of talented musicians and producers who have helped shape the album’s rich, multi-layered sound. This collective effort has resulted in an immersive listening experience that resonates deeply with audiences.
