It has roots in classic house music while bringing a modern touch with sound designs brass filling the breaks and wav synths filling out the rest the record.

We got a chance to catch up with Marc illy and he had a few words about his creative process and his newest record:

“I made this song in my apartment on a sunny day day in Los Angeles and just knew the name had to incorporate California and my recent return from Taipei, Taiwan. Xiangshan is the MRT stop I used to live at in Taipei for 2.5 years starting in 2015. It also means Elephant Mountain in Mandarin and California is my home. I felt this song has the vibe both those places for some reason after I finished it. I like to create from scratch with an MPC 4000, synths and just go with the flow and how I feel.”

Marc also has a travel blog illytravels.com and travels around the world documenting his travels and experiences he saw as well as continuing to produce music.
