Hello! Thanks for your time! How would you introduce yourself to our audience?

Thank you for this interview. I’m Lian Goldstein aka Lian Gold, a DJ & Music Producer in electronic music genres: Melodic House & Techno, Deep Progressive House, Indie Dance, etc.
Born in Shymkent, Kazakhstan (Soviet Union), and currently resides in Tel Aviv, Israel.
As a Technology Enthusiast, I’m also an Owner of a Web & eCommerce Digital Agency – eMode Digital.

How has growing up in a musically-influenced home helped you develop as a producer?

My mom has graduated from a musical conservatory and has started to teach me to play on the piano at age six. My grandfather inspired me to sing and dance to the rhythms of the music. Since I remember myself, the music part was a big influencer on almost every family event. Growing up in a musically-influenced home has inspired me to create my masterpieces.

How does your creative process start?

I like to listen to my favorite artists on Spotify and have created an inspirational playlist that helps me get inspired by unique sounds and generate new music ideas in my mind.
I’m starting my creative process with 1-2 references that have inspired me, with an 8 or 16 bar loop that combines the main track idea.

The reason for this interview is your new single “Shambala”. What can you tell us about the idea behind it?

Shambala is a Tibetan Buddhism term meaning: “Source of happiness. A mythical kingdom is hidden somewhere in Inner Asia.”
As a spiritual person, I believe that our ‘mythical kingdom’ is our mindset. Once you tune yourself to the desired frequency, you’ll attract the magic of the universe.
‘Shambala’ combines different electronic elements, including psychedelic sounds, ethnic vocal, and middle east vibes, that reminds me of my mythical experiences in certain parts of my life.

Tell us something more about your cooperation with Inhale Label.

The owner of Inhale Label is HEVI LEVI, aka Shlomi Levi; he was my teacher in DJing and Music Production. I have started my music career at Inhale Records. The label has a special part in my musical development.

How would you describe the current situation on the global electronic scene?

It has both sides, a positive and negative, like the building blocks of our life. Both sides should co-exist together and help each other to involved.
I think we should learn from it, be grateful for what we have, and keep moving. That’s mean not to cry about how the situation is bad because it’s already a fact. We need to find a new solution and get over the challenging situation that came to us suddenly.
I’m keeping do my best, creating new music, learning new skills, recording live sets, meeting new artists and DJs through social platforms, etc.

You are mixing different electronic genres, so how would you describe your sound?

As an eclectic person, I like to listen to almost every music genre: Classical, New Age, Pop, Hip-Hop, Trance, Psy Trance, etc.
This variation of music genres had helped me to develop my unique style in music production. My music’s main sound is a Melodic and Deep Techno beats that combine elements of other genres in perfect harmony.

What’s your opinion on the current livestreaming trend among DJs?

As you said: “It’s a trend”, and eventually it will end. I think that any digital presence is contributing in some way. The main question is what we want to achieve and how we want to position ourselves.
Every DJ should start by asking himself: “Why?”. Why are you doing it? The answers will help him develop the correct strategy, pick the right platform, and reach the specific audience. Eventually, we want to build personal branding for ourselves and keep growing. So, it’s necessary to do it smartly.

What is underground for you?

It’s a term that refers to the position of the musical genre in the whole scene. The music or artist is discovered through channels that are less popular than mass media.
Every mainstream was once an underground 🙂

Do you believe that an artist has to be both producer and a DJ?

No. I don’t think. An Artist is a person who is skilled in a particular field; it can be everything from drawing to dancing. So you can produce your music, and others can play it and vice versa.

What are your top 5 techno tracks at the moment?

Can I mention my tracks? 🙂 So it’s the list:
1. Gundamea – Sweet Disposition
2. Peer Kusiv, Lenny, Undercatt – Toxic Temptation
3. Stylo, Space Motion – Wrong or Right
4. KAS:ST – VTOPIA
5. Tube & Berger, Goatchy – All I want

Are there any new projects you are working on in the near future?

Always! I plan to make a collab with new creative artists and keep working on my new stuff. Follow me and keep updated.
