Song of the Day: Vancouver’s BAINS. shines bright with “Da’Shade” single & video (& remixes)

Our Song of the Day is a big release from budding Vancouver talent, BAINS.

Presented by Vancouver-based Owake Records, “Da’Shade” is quickly gaining traction and earning BAINS. a gang of new fans along the way. If you’re just getting familiar with the West Coast artist, you might remember him from the 2018 bbno$ collaboration, “bad girl,” which appeared on bbno$’s album debut, bb steps. The song just recently passed 25 million streams on Spotify.

“Switching between his witty verses and an incredibly smooth chorus, BAINS. is making it well known that he has leveled up his sound in a major way.” – Lyrical Lemonade

After a brief hiatus from releasing music, BAINS. returned earlier this year with “SorryBae,” and then the REVÈ-assisted “Played.” The latter has put up a respectable 14K+ to date on Spotify, but “Da’Shade” has really brought his streams to another level. Along with being added to our official Spotify playlist, Canadian Fresh, the song has found on several other playlists including Spotify’s own, Northern Bars.

Along with the single—currently sitting at 28.2K Spotify streams since its release on March 5—BAINS. has released the Da’Shade remixes which includes a version with Burgundy Soul founder Isaac Zale, and another with Raman Bains.

“Da’Shade” was released with accompanying visuals directed by Brock Newman, produced by BOLDLY and edited by Slackjaw. And as dope as it is, some how this gem has only been viewed just over 7.8K times to date. With the momentum BAINS. seems to be building, I’m expecting this to shoot up quite a bit after more people get there hands on the single.

Check out the “Da’Shade” video and remixes below, and stay tuned for more from your boy BAINS.
